What Harbored Is — And What It Isn't

All articles

Before you go any further, a few honest words about what Harbored is and what it isn't — because clarity matters, especially right now.

**What Harbored is:**

A practical guide for the financial and logistical tasks that follow loss. A phase-by-phase roadmap written in plain language, organized around what is most urgent when.

A source of honest, human writing about grief, finances, and rebuilding — through what we call the Harbored Filter: the voice of a confident friend who has done the research and speaks plainly.

A community of women navigating the same territory — organized, safe, and built for genuine connection.

A curated directory of vetted service providers — financial advisors, attorneys, and others — pre-screened for trustworthiness.

A free resource. The roadmap, the articles, and the basic community access are available to every Harbored member at no cost.

**What Harbored is not:**

A financial advisor. The information on this platform is educational and informational. For decisions specific to your financial situation, please work with a licensed professional — and Harbored can help you find one.

A law firm or legal service. For estate questions, probate, or legal guidance, please work with a licensed attorney.

A mental health provider. Harbored is not a substitute for grief counseling or therapy. If you are struggling, please reach out to a qualified counselor or call 988.

A substitute for human connection. Harbored can be part of your support network. It should not be all of it.

We are here to be one useful resource among many — one that was designed specifically for you, that respects your intelligence, and that treats you the way a knowledgeable, caring friend would.

Welcome.
